On March 10, 2021, Congress passed the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Please join us for a synopsis of the bill and actionable steps that individuals and business owners should take.
The bill includes a number of tax provisions including: recovery rebates, an overhaul of the child tax credit, enhancements to the earned income tax credit and dependent care assistance, unemployment relief, paid sick and family leave credits, employee retention tax credits, and premium tax credits. The bill provides clarity on the tax treatment of COVID-10 relief including the Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) and Restaurant Revitalization Grants.
